Name: Siren
Gender: mare
Breed: arabian x mustang
Persona: Siren is a tiger dun mare. A dorsal stripe runs down her back, and her pelt is a deep ginger-red color. Tiger stripes are on her legs. Her eyes a bright green, contrasting beautifully with her red pelt. Her mane and tail are slightly darker than her pelt. Her lines make her graceful yet hardy. Her movements show her pride, though they hide the insecurity she often feels. Rippling muscles under a smooth skin, showing her brilliant health, which shows obviously when she’s ill for her coat seems dusty and the stripes fade into near nothingness, or so it seems.
The personality of Siren is unpredictable on the best days. Her mother was a true rebel, her father a true Dark. But Siren is neither, though their personalities have helped to determine her own. Ghostly, her life force seems like it’s all but faded from her. Though her coloring in a deep red orange, her true coloring would be gray. Once a fairly happy filly, now as a mare she needs someone who can help her out of her somewhat mild depression. In other words, she needs a friend. She is often quiet for long periods of time, preferring to watch than to talk, but if someone wishes to speak to her, she will usually answer. When not depressed, she is a fiery mare, and proud. Would be a good lead mare, had she not sunken into depression. Siren is highly intelligent, and even without her “luster” is a strong companion and friend.
Short history: Though her past is spotted, with many fadeouts, Siren remembers some. She was born into a world of Dark and Light, where some of the horses only practiced wrong doings and the rest only practice the right – or what they believe the gods define as “right” and “wrong.” She was both cursed and blessed to be born to Dark parents.
Truly, her mother wasn’t born Dark, but her mother was a rebel. Truthfully, she was Rebel, queen of the Darks in the high lands, for there was thought to be no horses in the low. Even Siren’s father was less Dark than his Queen, and that scared him. Eventually, he killed himself. No one pitied the day. They were better off without him. They had Rebel. Rebel, in turn, replaced him with another stallion who hated Siren with a passion, for she was the daughter of Rebel and another. He angered Rebel, for her daughter was the singular thing precious to her.
In an attempt to win back her graces, the stag tried to show Rebel that he was a fit King for her by chasing out Siren’s father’s eldest son, Firecracker. That didn’t work, however, for the old King had been an old stag, siring many foals… including Firecracker, who was the same age of Rebel. Surprising and slightly oddly, Rebel had decided that he would make a good King and mate. So, the stag tried to kill the horse that was to replace him. He was killed. And in the Spring the King and Queen had a colt between the two of them, named Pirate’s Freedom. Siren was unwanted now, and forced to leave the herd. She wanted to, anyway. Her half brother was her mother’s mate and King… it was too weird and sickening. She left, technically forced out.
Not short, I know. Sorry.
